What We Do

Our Programs

Comprehensive community support through five core programs serving families and individuals across Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area

Food Relief Program

Our Food Relief Program is the cornerstone of Community Relief Network's mission to reduce food insecurity across the Greater Toronto Area. Every week, we assemble and distribute carefully curated food hampers filled with grocery essentials to families and individuals who need them most.

What sets our program apart is our deep commitment to cultural sensitivity. We work closely with community members to understand their dietary needs and cultural preferences, ensuring every hamper contains items that are not only nutritious but also culturally appropriate and familiar. From staple grains and proteins to fresh produce, we aim to provide complete, balanced meals.

Through partnerships with local grocery stores, food banks, and wholesale distributors across the GTA, we are able to maximize every dollar donated and stretch our resources further. These partnerships also help reduce food waste in our communities by redirecting surplus inventory to families in need.

Key Services

  • Weekly food hamper assembly and distribution at multiple GTA locations
  • Culturally appropriate items including halal, kosher, and plant-based options
  • Local grocery store and food bank partnerships for sourcing
  • Emergency food relief for families in crisis situations
  • Nutritional information and healthy recipe cards included in every hamper

Feminine Hygiene & Dignity Kits

Period poverty is a reality for thousands of women and girls across Toronto and the GTA. When individuals cannot afford essential menstrual hygiene products, the impact extends far beyond physical health — it affects school attendance, workplace participation, and overall dignity and self-worth.

Our Dignity Kits program addresses this critical need by assembling and distributing comprehensive hygiene kits to women and girls in vulnerable situations. Each kit is thoughtfully curated to include a range of menstrual hygiene products, personal care essentials, and wellness items that restore a sense of normalcy and dignity.

We distribute these kits through a trusted network of shelters, community centres, and schools across the Greater Toronto Area, ensuring they reach those who need them in safe, accessible, and stigma-free environments. Our volunteers handle every kit with care and discretion, because dignity should never be a luxury.

  • Distribution through shelters, community centres, and schools

Community Events

Strong communities are built on connection, and our Community Events program creates the spaces where those connections form. From lively block parties and seasonal celebrations to shared meals and resource fairs, every event is designed to bring neighbours together and strengthen the social fabric of our GTA communities.

Our events are always free, open to the public, and inclusive of all backgrounds, ages, and abilities. We understand that community building is not just about fun — it is about creating opportunities for residents to access resources, learn about available services, and feel a sense of belonging in their neighbourhood.

We also host regular wellness check-ins during our events, offering a casual and supportive setting where individuals can connect with social services, mental health resources, and other community organizations. These touchpoints often serve as a gateway for residents to receive the broader support they need.

Key Services

  • Regular block parties and neighbourhood celebrations
  • Seasonal celebrations for major holidays and cultural observances
  • Shared community meals and potluck gatherings
  • Resource fairs connecting residents with local services and support

Elderly Outreach

Social isolation among seniors is one of the most pressing yet often overlooked challenges in our communities. Many elderly residents in the GTA live alone, with limited mobility and few regular social connections. Our Elderly Outreach program is designed to combat this isolation through consistent, compassionate engagement.

Our trained volunteers conduct regular home visits to elderly and isolated residents, providing not just companionship but also practical support. From sharing a cup of tea and conversation to helping with small household tasks, these visits become a lifeline for seniors who might otherwise go days or weeks without meaningful human contact.

In addition to home visits, we provide meal deliveries to seniors who have difficulty shopping for or preparing their own food. We also extend personal invitations to our community events, arranging transportation when needed, so that elderly residents can participate in the social life of their neighbourhood and feel truly connected.

Key Services

  • Regular home visits by trained and vetted volunteers
  • Nutritious meal deliveries for seniors with limited mobility
  • Companionship programs to combat loneliness and isolation
  • Transportation assistance to community events and gatherings
  • Connections to additional senior services and resources

Homelessness Support

Homelessness is a growing crisis in the Greater Toronto Area, and Community Relief Network is committed to providing direct, compassionate support to individuals experiencing life on the streets. Our Homelessness Support program focuses on meeting immediate needs while connecting people with the longer-term resources that can help them find stability.

Through regular outreach walks and distribution events, our volunteers provide hot meals, nutritious snack packs, and essential hygiene kits to individuals living without shelter. During colder months, we organize warm clothing drives to collect and distribute winter jackets, gloves, hats, scarves, blankets, and thermal wear — items that can be lifesaving during harsh Canadian winters.

Beyond meeting immediate physical needs, we maintain strong referral partnerships with local shelters, transitional housing programs, and social service agencies across the GTA. Our volunteers are trained to provide information about available resources and to help individuals navigate the often complex network of services available to them.

Key Services

  • Hot meal distribution and nutritious snack packs
  • Hygiene kits with personal care essentials
  • Seasonal warm clothing drives and winter supply distribution
  • Shelter referrals and social service navigation support
  • Outreach walks to connect with individuals in underserved areas
